COMMITMENT TO LOUISIANA
The Practice Protection Fund (PPF) was founded by Trinity Insurance Services to respond to the gap in coverage availability in the Louisiana market for Professional Liability Insurance coverage.
PPF is a Louisiana company dedicated to serving the needs of Physicians, Dentists, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, CRNAs and other health care providers who are searching for a stable company with a commitment to Louisiana.
FINANCIAL SECURITY
The Practice Protection Fund (PPF) is a stable, professional self-insured trust fund supported by a reinsurance carrier that has been rated A by A.M. Best.
The PPF has been reviewed by an outside actuarial firm and is audited on a quarterly basis for financial stability and security. Funds held in trust are placed in interest bearing accounts that have the financial security necessary for insurance companies.
COVERAGE
The primary function of the Practice Protection Fund (PPF) is to provide medical indemnity coverage for members through the utilization of risk pooling and reinsurance support.
PPF offers a claims-made agreement with standard limits of $100,000 per incident and $300,000 aggregate. PPF has been approved by the Louisiana Patients Compensation Fund to meet the underlying requirements for a provider to quality for coverage. Excess coverage above the $500,000 PCF cap is available.
Claims made agreements require the purchase of reporting endorsements or tails if coverage is discontinued. PPF offers tail coverage, as well as prior acts coverage to its members. With respect to the retiring member, having been with PPF for 3 years and reached the age of 50, PPF will offer tail coverage at no cost.

The Practice Protection Fund (PPF) offers legal defense services separately through Practice Protection Services at an annual rate, regardless of the number of claims made.
